Prayer.
We just wanted to remind everyone, that the sanctuary is always open for prayer & worship through out the week, but especially during the 21 day fast. Just stop by if you want to!

Fasting Resources
Tomorrow will mark the beginning of our church wide 21 day fast(January 1st-21st), for those who are participating we wanted to offer you some tools to feel empowered to seek the Lord for however you feel led to fast.
Practical Tips:
1. Tell the least amount of people you are fasting- It’s between you and the Lord, do not give the devil any foothold to turn a spiritual discipline into a religious ritual.
2. Turn off the TV- Eliminate all distractions, there is a tug of war with your flesh and spirit, guard your heart, soul and mind.
3. Get alone with God- Spending time with the Lord during a fast, can help occupy your mind, during the times you would normally be eating or watching television, etc. Come to Early Morning Prayer!
4. Feast on His word- Do not starve your spirit man, your body may become weak, but feasting on the word and knowledge of God will renew your strength.
5. Mediate on His word- Allow the word of God and the Holy Spirit to wash over your mind through meditating and memorizing scriptures.
6. Go for walks alone- This allows the Lord to reveal His love for you in ways you might over look during your day to day routine. Allow yourself to experience the beauty and love of God through creation.
7. Turn off your phone- Clear your schedule, and use this time to minister to the Lord. Become unified with him through intimacy with His son Jesus. To know Him, is to know his plans, purpose and agenda for your life!
8. Be quiet -There is humility in silence, and a healing that takes place when we quiet our souls before the Lord.
9. Do not tempt yourself- This one is easy, but if you are fasting food, do not go to restaurants, fasting media, don’t get on the computer. It might seem obvious, but old habits are hard to break.
10. Get rest- Sleep is spiritual. Allow your physical body the rest it needs to be sustained through the duration of the fast, especially if you are fasting food.
Bible Reading Plan:
Here are some scriptures you can read and mediate on during the fast, these are meant to be read throughout the day on a weekly basis for the duration of the fast. There are many more Bible reading plans, but this is a good place to start.
Sunday- Daniel 10
Monday- 1 Chronicles 21:18-27
Tuesday- Daniel 1
Wednesday- Psalms 119
Thursday- Matthew 6:5-18
Friday- Isaiah 58
Saturday- Mark 14:1-26
Other Resources:
We have the sermon notes and messages available for each week for you to use as another resource for your fast. If you would like them sign up at the information desk and we will be sure to get those to you. Pastor Barry has included the message from Wednesday, December 28th into the fasting teaching.
Be encouraged! You can do it! Do not give up! Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to increase the capacity of your heart to receive from the Lord during this fast! More resources will be coming soon!
I hope this helps!
